Represented by Upfront Thomas Motta Hamburg

Thomas Motta started working as a photographer of industrial facilities in 1996. For six years he travelled to places all over Europe, Asia and South America, shooting for clients in the steel industry.

To focus more on what he was always passionate about, he moved to Hamburg where he assisted well known photographers in automotive and people photography until 2007.

All of these experiences gave his minimalistic, reduced, natural style the fine-tuning it has today. Thomas's photographs are often "one-shots" without composing. He prefers fast cars in their "natural environment", so whenever possible he shoots them car-to-car.

Additionally, he makes spontaneous handheld shots, which are not very common in today's commercial automobile photography. Thomas also has the experience and knowledge needed to translate his style to a virtual car during a CGI shoot.

He has been represented by UPFRONT photo & film since 2015.

Clients include ADAC, Blohm+Voss, BMW, Condé Nast, Ferrari, GQ, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Opel, Porsche, Skoda, Thyssen Krupp, Viseon, Volvo and VW.

WE-SHOOT-IT Frankfurt - Munich

For nearly 10 years, the WE! shoot it photographers Thomas von Salomon and Michael Compensis have been creative partners of magazines Ramp and Rampstyle. Both are now published in English as they begin to tackle the international market.

For a special edition for the Geneva Motorshow, the Ramp team chose Michael and Thomas to shoot the brand new Seat Ibiza in Barcelona in a very graphic and artistic way. Illustrations were done by new WE! shoot it member, illustrator and storyboard artist Thomas Hardtmann. The result is a colourful advertorial spread showing how alive and very kicking the car truly is!

Shortly after, they realized a vivid shoot with a very editorial look in cooperation with Fiat Abarth, showing the lively side of the Abarth 595 amongst Frankfurt’s nightlife. The spread will be featured in Ramp.

For the new issue of Rampstyle appearing on 14th June, the pair also shot the brand new Range Rover Velar in a very sophisticated studio spread. The magazine's aim was to showcase the iconic design highlights of the car - a 'dream job' for both design-savvy photographers.
