Bruce Jenkins New Zealand

Bruce Jenkins is passionate about his profession and his art. Equally at home in the white-hot high-speed intensity of top level motorsport or shooting advertising, portfolio and collection art images for magazines, Bruce has shot it all.

His professional, easygoing demeanour with clients and subjects enables him to quickly establish a rapport and identify the vision behind the brief.

A photographer for more than three decades, Bruce's personal passion is automotive where he excels at capturing fast moving subjects (and the environment they inhabit) in a dynamic style that no one else can match. His mastery of this style of photography has sent him on assignments for major manufacturers the world over, and he is now entering his ninth year as the official photographer to Toyota Racing Series and the Toyota Finance 86 Series.

He is also a two-times winner of the New Zealand Motorsport Photographer of the year competition.

Working in the crystal-clear air and harsh sunlight of Australia and New Zealand has lent many of Bruce’s images a surreal appearance. Other locations have lighting that is softer and more flattering to a subject. His vast experience and talent is to bring these two extremes together to create a truly memorable finished image, capturing the essence of the moment and meeting the expectations of client and subject.

Jeff Ludes Photos Los Angeles

Jeff Ludes’s latest personal project found him shooting the 590-horsepower Maserati Levante up and down Southern California, covering both stills and video. Though he spent five days with the vehicle, the most fruitful times were in the dusk hours when the blue paint picked up the deep blue sky.

California had a ton of snow last winter, so it was a great opportunity for this project for Mazda. After shooting for a few days on a Hollywood backlot, the team packed up and headed for the mountains, which turned out to be the highlight of the project.

Lincoln brought Jeff on board for another social media campaign, this time centered around the desert and architecture of Palm Springs. The desert sunrise was stunning, but the best part was exploring reflections at this glass-clad modern building.

Kevin Necessary Los Angeles

A Los Angeles-based photographer and director specialising in automotive, being raised in Lake Tahoe gave Kevin a love for outdoor adventure.

"Summers spent camping, climbing, fly fishing and winters on the ski team. Both parents were auto racers which brought me to shooting cars at the age of 14. This combination of outdoor sports and racing led me to build my first off road race car. I now have seven Baja 1000s under my belt.

I like to bring my adventure sports and racing experience to my shoots. Knowing the capabilities of cars and people in their own environment makes capturing natural and spontaneous moments instinctual.

This year has brought some incredible projects. We spent two weeks throughout Arizona and Utah shooting the new Ford Ranger, directed three spots and print for Toyota 4Runner in the western Sierras, a BMW X1 shoot in Beijing, film and print for Mercedes AMG GLC63 in Joshua Tree, and many more."

Clients include Ford, Chevrolet, Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Toyota, Lincoln, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Yamaha, Lexus, Infinity, Mazda, Zinoro, Hyundai, Jeep, Audi, Dodge, Volvo, BMW, Mercedes, Acura, Cadillac, GMC, Goodyear, Indy Car series, Jaguar, Kia, Nike and Porsche.

But this time, I saw them in a new way that’d elevate my client’s vision.” He shares, “I imagined how the right angles and effects would deepen this brand’s story.”

Viewing every project as a partnership, he works closely with brands and agencies to produce distinctive shots that deliver impact.

In June, Lisa captured one of her most favourite things to photograph - racing. During the annual 24 hour endurance race at the famous Nürburgring, Lisa worked tirelessly to capture the speed and excitement of this event.

Since being back from Germany, Lisa has photographed several other projects that are about to be released and she is excited for what’s on the horizon for the rest of the year.

After finishing a job for MAN Truck and Bus SE in Germany that involved a studio shoot of the national football team-bus, Marius Krutschke's work led him under the bright sun of Miami as well as into the fascinating mountains of Northern Italy.

"The modern, clear and bright architectural environment of Miami’s Art District contrasts with the surprising colour of the car. But nobody can say that this doesn't all fit together!"

Back in Italy, the tremendous mountainous area provided excellent opportunities to create a very specific ambience using the available light of this extraordinary environment.

WE! SHOOT IT Munich - Frankfurt

This year, the WE! Shoot It duo Michael Compensis and Thomas von Salomon, who have made a name for themselves in European car photography, have travelled the United States on three separate occasions.

The duo photographed a spread with singer/songwriter Nik Chamberlain and his Porsche 911 SC with the fitting title 'California Dreamin' in Aliso Village, Los Angeles. The perfect pairing of the location's rough look and a Porsche SC marked by numerous racing missions, with this spread the two photographers demonstrated once again that they master the discipline of automotive photography in all its intricate facets.

The shoot for the new Infiniti QX80 took place in Downtown Los Angeles. “Above all, we wanted to get a natural perspective of the QX80 in an urban surrounding. This kind of photography is perfect for LA, since large-scale shoots like this take place daily and locals can be integrated into the motifs quite well - all leading to photos with an unaffected atmosphere.”

And back in sunny California, WE! Shoot It staged a bright yellow Mustang in urban and suburban terrain. After all this, the pair can’t wait to get back to the States again!
