Richard Jung London

Given his culinary upbringing, it’s perhaps unsurprising that Richard Jung is now one of the most prolific and well-regarded food photographer/directors at large today.

In 2003, Richard moved to London from his native California and discovered that the myth that English food is terrible is not strictly true anymore. The burgeoning London foodie scene meant he was in his element and he began first taking photographs of, and then making films about food, glorious food.

While still rooted in food his focus has broadened to include a wider view of the people who grow it, cook it and ultimately enjoy it. He has an easy-going west coast temperament that puts people in front of his camera at ease and his sense of humour and patience are particularly effective at drawing out genuinely spontaneous performances from children.
