Jacobo Parra Monterrey photographers

Jacobo Parra is a photographer and visual artist born in Monterrey, Mexico, where he currently lives. After experimenting with the camera at an amateur level, he formally began his career by producing his own documentary photography series 'Diaspora' in 1994. Documenting the presence of a Mennonite community in the state of Durango (Mexico), the series has been exhibited in Romania (2000) and Italy (2010)

Jacobo went on to work with various photographers, producing and assisting projects both in Mexico and Italy, where he also collaborated with NGOs documenting humanitarian aid projects in Ghana.

In addition to his own projects in photographic creation, Jacobo is currently working in the Mexican music scene, creating images for albums, promotions and concerts. He has also done portraits and photographic series for different brands, companies and organisations including John Deere, Kansas City Southern de Mexico (Railroad Company) and Burger King.

He is currently working mostly on portrait and commercial photography.
