Julien McRoberts Santa Fe, NM

Julien McRoberts is a leading southwest photographer who has the unique ability to capture intimate cultural moments, places, and people without ever disturbing the scene. Her work is a stolen glance into an elegant but rustic southwestern home, an obscure Native American ritual, or a hot and dusty rodeo.

Her extensive travel experience helps her to know where and how to situate herself in order to find these unique moments. Born in the American West, this world is hardly foreign to Julien, who has lived in California, Colorado, and now New Mexico for the past 16 years. “I have the West in my blood,” she says, and she has the portfolio to prove it.

Julien is a rare breed in the industry; she has extensive executive-level business experience in the corporate and non-profit worlds. She is used to wearing many hats and brings this knowledge and commitment to her photography career.

Clients include Amazon.com, Sunset Magazine, New York Magazine, Popular Photography, Kathy Ireland Worldwide, and New Mexico Magazine.

Maxine Helfman Dallas, TX

Maxine Helfman developed her distinct style during years of working as a stylist and art director before turning to photography. In her studio/prop shop, every shoot takes a fresh approach, from concept to execution.

She brings a mixture of wit, patience and passion to a range of subjects, with equal focus on technical ability. Whether shooting in or out of the studio, it is the collaboration and the pre-production that make each project.

"The rest is magic."

Jim Olvera Dallas, TX

Jim Olvera is a Texas native with no hat and no boots. He grew up in Oklahoma but has no discernible accent, and although he studied architecture and engineering in college, he graduated with a BFA in photography. Some would say he is a complex guy, but Dallas photographer Jim Olvera can distill what he does to just one word. Simplify.

When asked how best to explain what he does, he tells this story:

“I once was asked to photograph a very elegant architect who as a young woman traveled unaccompanied in Asia in the 1920s, which in her words, ‘was then quite scandalous!’ My job was simply to create a picture that communicated her grace and dignity, with just enough scandal thrown in to make it interesting.

So that is what I do for a living. I take a subject, figure out what is interesting about it and simplify.”

Destry Jaimes Austin, TX

Destry Jaimes is a commercial photographer based in Austin, Texas, with clients in editorial, advertising and music. His creative approach allows him to capture quiet yet powerful moments, while his style of dramatic and elegant lighting softens the edges of his subjects without compromising their personality.

Drawn to various subcultures for his personal work, Destry's most recent project, 'Permanent Markers', explores the world of tattooing and features portraits of the artists who are just as unique as the work they do.

Destry is a member Editorial Photographers (EP) and the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), and currently serves as Vice President for his local ASMP chapter.

Jeremy Charles Tulsa, OK

Jeremy Charles is an emerging Midwest-based photographer specialising in advertising, editorial assignments, music and architecture. Jeremy spent nearly a decade working as a successful interactive designer before transitioning to photography. His background as a self-taught artist has endowed him with creative intuition and a keen understanding of light, composition and colour.

Best known for creative portraits of musicians, public figures and athletes, Jeremy’s work combines concept, technical prowess, and emotion. He thrives on a challenge and is equally at ease managing a large production or thinking quickly on his feet.

Jeremy has been recognised as Tulsa’s best photographer by the Urban Tulsa Weekly readership in 2009 and 2010, and has a growing list of industry accolades and top-notch editorial and corporate clients. Based in Oklahoma, he serves the Midwest USA from St. Louis to Houston, Nashville to Denver.

Bryan Rowland Salt Lake City, UT

His epic landscapes, vibrant architectural and stunning conceptual images have brought him work from some of the top advertising and architecture firms and magazines, making the cover of Western Art & Architecture magazine.

Bryan's respect for nature and love of family keeps him happily in a small mountain town with his wife and two children, proving that exceptional talent can indeed be found outside the large metropolitan areas.
