Alun has enjoyed a positive and productive year, creating portraits and moving image content for high end design, editorial and luxury brand clients.

The beginning of the year saw him photograph the artist Maggi Hambling for Sky Arts; this portrait went on to become a finalist in the prestigious AoP awards.

"Everything I do is about collaboration either with the subject or the team around me, being able to communicate a strong narrative, to create that connection between the subject and viewer is all vital in making a portrait".

Award-winning portrait photographer Alun Callender loves the challenge his photography commissions gives him, from photographing fashion icons, politicians, craftspeople and artists - no day is ever the same.

"Preparation and research are key to most shoots, but it’s always nice to see what else happens on a shoot, everything I do is a collaboration either with my subject, the client or the creative team I have around me, and it’s through this the magic happens.

It’s been a busy year so far; in these interesting times we find ourselves living in, change has become constant, but I aim to deliver on consistency and professionalism with every shoot; what we do is a real privilege and I aim to make my shoots as enjoyable and positive as they can be!"

"I’m an award-winning commercial and editorial portrait photographer with a particular interest in human narratives within the creative community.

My own identity has been shaped by growing up amongst a family of craftspeople, giving me an innate insight and understanding of the processes and commitment at the heart of their lives. While some of my work is conceptually driven, many projects are location-based enabling me to capture the personality, skill and dedication of the artisans though stills and motion."
