    New York

Kristofer Dan-Bergman is an award winning Swedish born and New York residing photographer. Born into a theatre family, taking pictures came early to him, but he never thought of it as a career until many years later.

His definitive professional transition came in New York when he took a darkroom course at ICP and developed his first photograph. It was love at first sight!

He started out working as a photojournalist and eventually ventured into commercial photography, where he has shot campaigns for the likes of Clarins (worldwide), AT&T, Tag Heuer and Kay Jewelers.

His personal work has evolved in the background, including documentary and fine art. He has exhibited at Fotografiska in Sweden and MOCADA Museum in Brooklyn, and has had many solo shows. Kristofer is part of the Permanent Collection at ICP in New York with one of his photographs.

In December, Kristofer will be represented at two Art Fairs in Miami. At Scope he will be showing his ‘allONE’ series and at Aqua he wil be showing two pieces from his ‘Away’ series.

    Title: Evidence of Resilience

"The photo is just one in a series of 40-50 pictures depicting the inhabitants of 15 villages in Eastern Africa (Rwanda, Burundi, and Uganda). I met the founder of the NGO Spark Micro Grants at a convention hosted by the Global Good Fund (GGF). I had helped the GGF in the past, documenting their work (leadership and fundraising development for smaller NGOs) and I took a liking to Spark’s approach in helping these villages. I spoke to GGF who helped me get in contact with Spark. The agreement was that I was going to document the work they do in the villages with stills and video as long as I could do his personal project with these portraits.

The winning image is from one of the first villages we visited in Rwanda and the name of the village is Kintobo"
