So far this year has been a year of BEVs and EVs for Kevin Uy Photography. Starting off the year is work with the new Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo photographed and filmed in Victoria, BC, then off to working with Toyota for the launch of the BZ4X and new Mirai also in Victoria BC.

A few weeks ago, the team finished the first part of campaign with Subaru featuring largely in part the Subaru Solterra which is yet another BEV entering the markets. The team looks forward to capturing and representing more of these vehicles in the stunning Canadian landscapes.

Currently, Kevin is working on improving photography and videography direction along with preparation for other projects in 2022.

Kevin and team recently wrapped up some cool campaign projects, and by cool, it meant being in Alberta, Canada this December for both Rolls Royce and Bentley. Imagine photographing Rolls Royce' latest offering, the Black Badge Ghost, in one of the most iconic nature escapes in Canada – Lake Louise.

As always, mother nature proves to be a big challenge in any photoshoot but luckily the team experienced more than favourable conditions to shoot.

On the other hand, the Bentley Flying Spur and Continental GT were photographed in highly urbanized downtown sections of Edmonton, where the challenge was just the iced roads. Nevertheless, the team chipped away at the challenge and produced great results.

The last few months’ work has proven to be quite an exciting range of different vehicles ranging from one’s everyday commuter to something that is purely a sight to behold.

Kevin and team took Mitsubishi’s revamped Eclipse Cross to a remote location without a cellphone and GPS signal to highlight its improved navigational technology powered with partner What3words. The next challenge was with a Mercedes-Benz E-class All-Terrain showing its off roading prowess thereby proving it is a great alternative to a conventional SUV.

The more challenging productions are with Koenigsegg and Auto Motibili Pininfarina. Even though the vehicles provided were prototypes, Kevin and the team managed to produce the desired photographs for the OEM to use for their media and promotions.

The challenge was the tight timeline of shooting two vehicles in a period of 48 hours with only one support crew and as well as being limited to a small area to shoot due to travel restrictions. Another exciting project was the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster Xago edition.

"We just finished a recent project for RM Sothebys featuring a very yellow Ford GT. It was a fun little project especially playing around with a gorgeous spring sunset that just complements the colour of the Ford GT itself.

This project went on despite the whole coronavirus situation and we made sure to follow the protocols for sanitation, distancing and proper guidelines as laid out by Canada’s health ministry. We’re open for further projects here in Canada moving beyond the situation as we navigate this strange new world. It’s time to think of the next steps in the advertising and marketing fields."

He recalls a recent project shooting a seasonal campaign in Whistler. After two full days on set, the team was wrapping up, having captured all the images needed. “I was driving around familiar roads that I had passed hundreds of times before. But this time, I saw them in a new way that’d elevate my client’s vision.” He shares, “I imagined how the right angles and effects would deepen this brand’s story.”
