Born in 1979, Sam Robinson's childhood was spent between London and Barcelona. Almost a thousand miles apart in distance, yet more than a million miles in spirit, it was the differences in these cultures that he loved to observe. "I watched life through a camera given to me by my dad when I was 8 years old, and since then a camera has rarely left my side."
After completing his photographic education at Nottingham Trent University, Sam polished it as an assistant before building his own studio in London and establishing his photographic business out of London, Barcelona and New York.
"My photography is about honesty. It’s about seeing: colours, characters, moments, people, personalities and stories. It’s about fun, friendship and feelings."
Working in stills and motion, he is commissioned globally to make imagery of life. "It's all about life... I love to see it happen."
Food photographer Tim Hill and his food stylist Zoe Hill are moving their north London food studio in December 2010.
The move to only a mile away will bring with it the opportunity to use new cameras and lighting methods. Although a challenging process, moving is a time to review what is necessary to keep and what surplus baggage to discard.
