Chic&Basic describes itself as 'a blank slate where you pick the colour'. This is not a white hotel - it's a wide screen with a wide array of colours for you to choose from, enabling you to interact with it, personalise it and be a part of it... an urban Mediterranean inspiration, with a mix of contemporary and baroque furniture. Paint your room passion red, hopeful green or soothing blue - LED and fibre optics for day and night.
At the White Bar, large curtains suspended from the roof emit light from hundreds of LEDs, transforming the chic white interior and bathing the night with colour.
Last month, Chic and Basic hosted 'Changing Room', an event based on the concept "One day, one hotel, 25 fashion designers". This is becoming a classic for cool hunters and fashion trendsetters in Barcelona.

It was one amazing night in Barcelona as the Fresh Faces 2010 modelling contest came to its grand finale. Each of the 10 finalists presented themselves with the utmost professionalism as they competed to become one of modelmanagement.com’s Fresh Faces 2010.
The evening wasn't just about the models, however, as the event also showcased the talented photographers who had made them shine. We were honoured to have present three of Europe's leading fashion photographers, José Aragón, Ansgar and David Ruiz, who, as well as attending the finals, also shot the models.
A testimony to true talent, each photographer had only one and a half hours to shoot the models in their chosen location at the Hotel ME. The day was packed with as much anticipation as fatigue for the 10 budding models chosen as the finalists from Spain. They had all been working tremendously hard for this day since being hand picked from the hundreds of young hopefuls that had entered the prestigious contest.
“Unforgettable”, “Fun”, “Amazing”, “Beautiful people, a big success and a great night” - these were just some of the comments from the assembled models, party guests, and industry professionals who contributed to making the Fresh Faces 2010 finals such an outstanding success.
