From Paris to Madrid, Cuzco to Istanbul and Madras to Hong Kong, Michael Raveney experienced an array of cultures and peoples - rich with visual impressions - all before his 14th birthday. Along the way he kept vivid imagery of each place in his heart, knowing one day he’d be able to share it with the world through the art of photography.

Michael’s first experience as a professional photographer was in Bosnia where he captured images of war-torn areas and the relief efforts of the UN, International Red Cross, and various NGOs for news organisations including Newsweek, The Times and AP.

Having visited almost 40 countries, in his mid-twenties Michael finally returned to the US where his work transitioned from photojournalism to creative photography. Eventually his focus turned to fashion photography, where he gained momentum in the public eye and was featured in GQ, Blender, Maxim, and numerous local and national magazines.

Michael continues to broaden his sphere of success and exposure. His most recent work includes fashion, automotive, product, beauty, location, advertising campaigns and even documentary work. He currently resides in Miami Beach, Florida.

Pablo Garcia began toying with photography at an early age using his father’s camera. He was given his first darkroom at age 16, and has pursued his passion ever since.

Following his studies in Savannah, GA, Pablo moved to New York to train under Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and the Starn Twins. “I love portrait photography because of its timeless quality,” he says. “That's what I look for in a picture, that it withstands the test of time.”

His work has been published in Vogue, Ocean Drive, Maxim, Poder and Haute Living, among others. Besides photography, Pablo directs commercials and music videos, most recently the Ford Fiesta campaign. His corporate clients include Ford, Sony Ericsson, Carolina Herrera, Microsoft, McDonald's, Sony Pictures, Univision and State Farm.

Spreading light through art is the ultimate goal of photographer Maicol Diaz. Although best known for his captivating photography, he is also proud to be a well-rounded artist.

Capturing images with the intent to both inspire and share beauty in unconventional ways, Maicol is renowned for shooting high fashion, conceptual work and celebrities alike. His work is recognised nationally as being very unique.

Presscott McDonald is a Miami-based photographer who is originally from New York. His work has been described as both raw and refined, always shot in an intimate and romantic style. This young and passionate photographer shoots both fashion and celebrity portraits for many publications and advertising clients, but refuses to limit his sights: he still found the time to shoot portraits of various NGOs for his first solo book project, entitled 'The Empowerment Project for the Love of Haiti.'

Retaining the genteel southern charm of his native Virginia, Christopher Logan discovered his passion at an early age. He is a graduate of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale with a degree in photography, after which he moved to Milan where he worked for numerous fashion clients.

Christopher has served as the staff photographer for the leader in language learning software Rosetta Stone. With over one million shutter clicks to his credit, his images are featured within the company's software and advertising materials. Steve Boxall, originally from England, graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a degree in fashion and editorial photography. After college he moved to London to start his photographic career shooting for BBC Television. After six years of working in London for the BBC and other clients, he left his native England to travel the world on a two-year hiatus before settling in Miami Florida.

Since moving to the USA and resuming his career, Steve has worked with some of the world's greatest photographers, amongst them Richard Avedon. Seeing the transition from film to digital, he became a founding partner in Digital Decaf, a digital services company for the photographic industry. More uniquely, he has built possibly the world's smallest niche photography market shooting in weightlessness and enhanced gravity for The Zero Gravity Corporation.

Steve has 20 years of experience working in almost every aspect of the industry, and as a father of three, he loves to photograph people but especially kids. Miami-based but always travelling, he is at home shooting studio, beach, island, zero gravity, and everything in between.

Dirk Franke stylishly blends beauty, fashion and glamour into a modern exploration of sensuality and classic sex appeal. Attached since his teenage years to the female form as subject, Dirk Franke's body of work showcases a stylish eroticism, an extended collection of beautiful, sensual photography comprised of gorgeous women, lush skies, steamy cityscapes and pristine beaches. Though a world traveller, Franke has been based in sun-drenched Miami since 1991, and how much he enjoys his life shows in his work.

Apart from studying cinematography in Europe, Dirk has otherwise dedicated himself to shooting fashion and advertising photography. His wife Lene has worked as a producer and model booker in international model agencies, and together they form a reliable, efficient and budget conscious team that has conducted photo shoots of all shapes and sizes in studios and on location all around the world.

A graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Orlando Noa honed his craft by assisting some of the world's leading photographers including William Klein, Peter Lindberg, Walter Chin, Mathew Rolston, Annie Liebovitz, Jean Baptiste Mondino, David Lachapelle, and many more. He specialises in location work where he feels the challenge enables him to improvise and produce surprisingly fresh results.

In addition to working for some of the most prestigious magazines and ad agencies, in the late 90s Orlando was half of the creative team at 2 Guys with an Attitude Productions. It was here that he produced and directed a feature-length documentary, as well as the opening trailer for the Miami Film Festival. He currently presides over Digital Decaf Inc., one of Miami's premiere digital capture and digital video production companies.

In the fall of 2010 Claudio Beier was hired to shoot the new Jean Yves ad campaign with the objective of dramatically modernising the brand’s imagery. Working in tandem with the company’s VP of marketing and with full creative freedom, Claudio worked on everything from shoot concept to post production supervision in order to achieve the company’s most successful ad campaign to date. In addition, Claudio has been developing a few short-films that will shortly become a commercial film reel, allowing him to show his vision in motion and provide clients with a new media.

Jorge Parra is a fashion, advertising and fine art still and motion shooter based in Miami.

The images featured in this Showcase are from a range of different shoots that all have a common approach to one-shot storytelling: Something is going on or about to happen, while fashion garments - from swimwear to lingerie and couture dresses - are all just part of the story.

Wick Beavers recently completed a two-week assignment photographing portraits of people affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. A selection of images from the series entitled 'Faces of the Gulf' is featured in this Showcase.

Ad agency VML made a slideshow video of Wick's pictures, accompanied by a song by Garnet Rogers 'Last Turn of the Wheel' to be used as a fundraiser for fishermen's families affected by the BP oil spill.
