Ricardo Barcellos Sao Paulo photographers

Ricardo Barcellos was born in Porto Alegre in 1969 and graduated in Social Communication at PUC-RS in 1991. He moved to São Paulo where he worked as a photographer's assistant until 1997, moving to New York to take a course at the International Center of Photography.

Ricardo shifts between advertising photography and art projects using photography, video and installation. He is a laureate of the Hasselblad Latin America Award, Conrado Wessel Award and Cannes Lions, among others.

With exhibitions in Madrid at the Photoespaña, in the Czech Republic, Dominican Republic and France, his work is also featured in collections including the Masp/Pirelli, Pinacoteca do Estado, Mac/RS (Contemporary Art Museum of Rio Grande do Sul) and the Instituto Cervantes in Madrid, Spain.
