Alex Bernstein is an LA-based photographer and self-diagnosed car nerd. He can be hard to find - shooting cars internationally, hopelessly modifying his old BMW to outrun a Lamborghini, or playing with other people’s dogs.
2015 was an exciting year for Alex after signing with agency Anderson Hopkins in January. Featured in this Spotlight are images from Alex’s drool-inducing shoot with Mercedes for Merkley + Partners, featuring the stunning 503hp AMG GT S.
Other highlights of the year were his shoots for Lexus both in Paris and Los Angeles with Team One, Nissan with TBWA/Chiat/Day starring the new Titan, a Honda Indy Car campaign with RPA, as well as two fun shoots with GMC for Facebook and Leo Burnett.
New work to be released in 2016 will reveal a breathtaking set with the Infiniti Q50 shot for Crispin Porter + Bogusky.
Jump on the bandwagon with 10,000+ others and follow Alex on Instagram, where he was recently named as one of the 10 best automotive accounts of 2015.
Alex Howe has shot everything from Ferrari in Fiorentina to Jaguar in Shanghai. Advertising and editorial - location and studio. A contemporary style that utilises the freshest approach combined with every technical advancement, Alex creates images that are both streets ahead of the competition and instantly recognisable as being creatively 'Now'.
Highlights from 2015 included advertising for Jaguar, Ford, Cadillac and Honda; editorial for Top Gear, GQ and Men’s Journal; and locations for McLaren at Willow Springs, Ferrari in Fiorentina and Audi at Tilbury docks.
Alex is represented in Europe by Morgan Lockyer and in the USA by iGroup NYC.
This Spotlight features a selection from recent shoots both in Europe and the US for Hyundai, Lexus, Tesla and Volvo.

Darren Capp shoots cars in Australia, China and India. Auto photography is his passion, and has been for over 25 years. He infuses drama and style into a broad cinematic look, complimenting the car through the cues and lighting of each location.
Over the last 12 months, assignments in China have included an extremely cold but beautifully sunny Beijing shooting the Mercedes E400 Sport range for BBDO. At the other end of the scale an extremely hot Shanghai saw the team shooting a number of pics for the updated Range Rover Evoque range with the crew from Wunderman.
Darren also travelled to a steamy New Dehli during the monsoon season with his agent Sunny S Alex for an update to the Renault Scala. Locally, Darren utilised Melbourne’s strong architectural style as a basis for locations for the Mercedes Benz B-Class 250 4Matic.
David Westphal continues to stand out with his latest collection of images featured in this Spotlight.
The Ford Escape reveal, launched this past November, wrapped up a project that took a better part of 2015. The agency relied on David from concept to CGI supervision, resulting in a stunning collection of images to advance the nuanced branding of the Escape.
In addition, David’s personal projects shot in the second half of the year illustrate his diversity, with images of the Volvo XC90 and Lexus RC-F. Both included traditional beauty shots plus lifestyle work. In Spain a spec project captured images that work for social media demonstrating his expertise in fulfilling the needs of a comprehensive digital marketing campaign.
In 2016, David looks forward to exploring new ideas and concepts bringing them to life through compelling imagery.
Ed Lee has had a love of photography since the age of eleven. Ed is a highly experienced photographer who has mainly worked in the automotive field for over 25 years.
He is happy in the studio or out on location, often combining both to create dramatic imagery.
Recent work this past year for Honda has included location shoots in Portugal and making location images in the studio. By combining various studio techniques Ed produced strong, realistic images with reflections that are true to the shape of the cars. The cars were integrated into backplates that came from a variety of sources including his own library.
Ed also has a love for quirky and unusual cars like the 1959 Metropolitan.
2015 was a blast and Harniman is looking forward to more of the same in 2016! The photographer shot in amazing locations with some great teams of people, with advertising commissions including Mitsubishi ASX ‘Adventure Advanced’ press ads, L200 ‘Showing The World How It’s Done’ campaign shot on location in the Sahara Desert, Jaguar CX-75 for the new James Bond 'Spectre' movie launch, BMW Ultimate Driving, Goodwood, RAC autumn and winter press campaigns, and Land Rover Defender, amongst others.
Other clients included GMC USA, Rolls-Royce and Volvo, to name a few, with stills, video and now aerial image creation (fully licensed) on offer.
Get an insight into Harniman's work on the regular blog or check Instagram, twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to discover the latest goings-on.
James Callaghan has spent a large part of 2015 shooting for Bentley Motors, along with this he has worked for Land Rover, shooting their Defender and Range Rover vehicles used in 'Spectre', the latest James Bond film.
With many years of experience, a positive attitude and a keen sense of humour, James is looking forward to another great year in 2016!
Lee Brimble has a serious love of cars. He works both in the studio and out on location to capture vehicles in a fresh and exciting way. Lee combines his knowledge and skills to shoot both moving image and direct motion for clients.
There has been a return to classic photography within the Automotive sector, picking up briefs without CGI and with limited retouching in order to capture a car's innovative style and power. Lee's series of shots and moving image for the global re-launch of the NSX, Honda's iconic super car, is just that. Travelling from San Francisco to Las Vegas with three NSX, Lee captured them driving on the open road on a trip that took over two weeks, a large crew, and a Russian arm.
Lee has also photographed advertising campaigns for Honda, BMW, Suzuki, Range Rover and Chevrolet, as well as shoots for supercar brands McLaren and Ferrari.

Ad agencies include JWT, Y&R, BBDO, Havas, Grip Limited, and McCann.
When he is not working on advertising commissions, MIGS is also found shooting for editorials. He also finds time to focus on personal projects shot in Iceland, the UAE, and different parts of Europe. Originally from Toronto, he is now based in Asia.

"As a professional photographer, I’ve been taking pictures for a very long time now, (over 20 years in fact), and have split a large chunk of those years living and working in Canada, the USA and Australia. As a result, I have come to know a thing or two about this industry and can offer a uniquely global perspective. And some pretty cool accounts have used my images along the way, including Mercedes-Benz Canada, Mercedes-Benz USA, Volkswagen USA, Lexus, General Motors, Volvo, Subaru, Peugeot and Peterbilt Trucks.
The global village allows me to collaborate with amazingly talented colleagues and digital artisans from around the globe, with whom I have met and come to know. Together we can bring just about anything you can imagine to life.
We do our very best to create outstanding visual content and achieve results that are sensitive and responsive to the needs of our clients. We strive to provide them with outstanding quality and value. These aren’t just words we put here to impress prospects, but an ethic we live by - because first and foremost we are all artists, and as artists, we are always seeking opportunities to make outrageously good work. Just because..."
2015 ended in a flurry of shoots for Sean Klingelhoefer, including flyaway jobs to Prague for Skoda, Tokyo for Motorhead Magazine and Germany’s famed Nürburgring circuit for Toyota. While the images can't be shown just yet, what we can show is equally as exciting.
Back in September Sean was invited by Porsche to attend the fifth running of Rennsport Reunion, or what the brand bills as “the largest gathering of Porsches on earth!” The setting for the event was Monterey’s beautiful, world-renowned Laguna Seca Raceway. Nearly 60,000 people came from all corners of the globe to see historic Porsche racecars in action.
As a Porsche enthusiast himself, this once-every-four-years gathering is a must-attend event for Sean and the images featured in this Spotlight offer a glimpse into the mind of a truly car and light-obsessed individual. These photos are a small sample of a larger collection of images that will be distributed in book form later this year.
Sean was called back to the streets of San Francisco for Chevrolet’s all-new 2016 Volt. Working with one of his favourite creatives, Sean shot a series of images that encapsulate the Volt lifestyle focusing on sophisticated light play and minimal retouching to give the authentic feel his work is known for.
