"Almost A Studio is exactly that. Almost an animation studio, almost a collective creative conscious bursting with ideas. Almost on the verge of something different.
We take big stories and ideas and breathe life into them, using traditional animation techniques and knowledge. For us, each project is special and we want to help realise it and bring it to life.
Our work is about putting feeling, creativity and playfulness at heart. We try not to take ourselves too seriously, having fun while we work. However, we treat everything we do with respect and care. This allows to keep ideas flowing and productivity high and involves clients in our process.
Animation is something that we know and have years of experience in. It also happens to be something we love and we’re going to keep playing with."
Carolina is a multitasking artist able to shift from graphics to portrait to still life. Her strong creative background is combined with professional knowledge of business and advertising. This combination makes her the right person to transfer innovation and beauty to powerful images.
She started working in an “artisan” studio 10 years ago. This experience shaped her artistic taste and made her a manager and problem solver. These qualities are fundamental for her work with advertising companies, multinationals, and smaller companies such as AQuest, dm Drogerie Markt, Laica, Lorenzo Marini Group and other lovely clients and collaborators.
She prefers a cooperative approach, and to develop the final image with the clients in a positive and humble environment.

Recently due to the Covid19 situation, she has begun to revisit and work on her personal projects which had been on hold for lack of time. One of her favourite and ongoing projects involves vintage cat figurines which she brings to life through the sets she creates for them. While many things have slowed down recently due to the pandemic, Elizabeth has been able to work from her home studio remotely for her clients.
One of her most recent projects includes working with Sunkist. Some of her other clients include Goodie Girl, Hilary’s Eat Well, Happi Foodi, Revele, and Yelp. She specialises in creating commercial photography used for print, digital, and packaging.
Charming stop motion, that is not only of the highest technical standard but also comes with a dash of humour - that is what Hans Gerlach and Christopher Tech love to shoot the most.
Occasionally they do give workshops on the subject, e.g. at the latest international foodphotofestival in Denmark.
In their large – and safe – food und text studios, producing high end stop motion animation, food stills and moving image, it is easy to coordinate all in one shoot. Part of the studio is a test kitchen offering recipe development by highly qualified chefs.
Hans is well known as a food columnist for Germany’s most important daily newspaper, the Süddeutsche Zeitung. Every week his column is illustrated by food und text studios with new video and stills.
If you are looking for culinary or photographic input out off the ordinary – ask Hans and Christopher, they will have the right ideas and the means to realise every one of them.
Recent work includes commercial stop motion and photo production for companies like Siemens Home, Savencia Fromage & Dairy, Landluft, Herbaria Kräuterparadies or Nissin foods. food und text studios are happy to work on a regular basis with many of their editorial clients like industry leaders BEEF!, Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin or Slowfood Magazine.
