In the world of photography, there are many specialised fields. One of these, which most people overlook, is food photography. Fabian Häfeli (37) has a special focus on this field.
Fabian started his own brand, Fabian Häfeli Fotografie, in 2007, not knowing then where the journey would take him. Now, with his studio well established in Zurich, he has gained a wide range of clients to date based mainly in Switzerland, such as Gate Group Holding, Maison Manesse, Jelmoli, The Dolder Grand, among others.
Häfeli worked with The Dolder Grand in a recent project for the gourmet festival The Epicure by Heiko Nieder. The concept itself was inspired by Häfeli’s black-and-white series from 2013, which creative director Charles Blunier intended to revive.
Another recent project is the ALDI grilling campaign, presenting Häfeli’s work this summer on posters, banners and in magazines across Switzerland.
Jeff Dahlgren is the vision behind Fortis Photo, a Chicago-based commercial studio specialising in food and beverage photography.
As the season has shifted into warmer days, some of Jeff’s recent work has embodied a fresh summer flavor highlighting simple mediterranean dishes. His love of natural light, coupled with the change of seasons creates a memorable sense of place, like an outdoor lunch on a trip to Greece!
Some of Fortis Photo’s satisfied clients including Archer Roose, Truly, US Foods, and Pampered Chef rely on Jeff’s images to capture their own vision of food & drinks, or their brands lifestyle in a fun and collaborative environment.
On shoot days, you can experience his beautifully, well-designed studio space, built out of an old foundry, just a block west of the Chicago river in the West Town neighborhood. His 4,000 sq ft photography studio with extensive prop collection was renovated with shooting in mind.

"I like to think that I stand out as a someone who has a specialism for portraiture as well as food photography, who can combine both people skills and technical ability.
My passion for food has been with me from an early stage. I was taught how to cook at the age of five by my late grandmother, and how to photograph by my uncle, a fashion photographer. You could say that I was born in the kitchen and grew in the studio.
I’m an award-winning photographer based in London."
