Kevin Leighton
London
Kevin Leighton uses photography to represent spontaneous and subtle emotion. He has been invited to photograph many well-known individuals from diverse walks of life: her Majesty the Queen, Arsène Wenger and the pianist Lang Lang are all recent subjects.
His natural style has led to many projects in the arts: for the English National Opera, the Barbican, and principally for the London Symphony Orchestra; to commissions from healthcare organisations, such as the NHS and the Terrence Higgins Trust; and to work for financial institutions and national government bodies.
Kevin has been sent by Christian Aid to document the lives of textile weavers in the slums of Salvador, Brazil - and to Burkina Faso, for a reportage about traditional farmers’ response to climate change that earned him a finalist’s spot in the 2010 Photography Masters Cup International Color Awards. Other projects have taken him to Russia, Cuba, the United States and the Arctic.
