Jamel Toppin is a freelance photographer based in New York City.

His interest in photography began as a teenager in his native country of Trinidad and Tobago, where he grew up in the art department of the advertising agency where his mother served as creative director.

Although his work comprises a wide variety of subjects, he specialises in the field of portraiture.
