Mathilde Karrèr’s trademark is to use accessories, flowers and food to create lavish yet subtle compositions with a captivating narrative. Half-way between paintings and movie stills, her photographs are elaborate, visually-rich micro worlds with knowingly chosen details.

Mathilde Karrèr is a still life photographer from Amsterdam, currently based in Berlin and working internationally.
After a career in film, since 2012 still life photography has become her main focus. Mathilde has a keen eye for styling and has a well developed sense for creating a narrative within a single image. Working solo or with talented stylists, she strives for a high-end image, well balanced in atmosphere, colour, texture and light.
Luxury goods, jewellery, flowers, fashion accessories and dachshunds are just some of her favourite subjects to shoot. Commercially, she has worked for Montblanc, Zalando, Ace&Tate and Bugaboo. Editorially, she has shot for Vogue, Buffalozine and Highsnobiety.

Mathilde Karrèr's work is about details, light and textures. Inspired by classical paintings or contemporary graphic style, a well balanced image is the result. Her portfolio is a combination of both moody and graphic, bright images.
Set designing and styling is an aspect Mathilde loves to get involved with. She is currently working on a non commissioned series, inspired by a recurring theme - 16th and 17th Century stil life in black and white.
In her free time she loves to browse antiques stores to find beautiful props to use in her photography.
Mathilde has done commissioned work for the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Zalando, Olaf Hussein and Bugaboo. Her editorial work has featured in Vogue, Highsnobiety and Ace&Tate.
