Vishal started out to become an engineer, but a heightened awareness of the visual art diverted his attention to the camera and its versatility. Ridden by this passion, he decided to drop out of engineering college to pursue his dream and completed his graphic designing from a Canadian college. After working with reputed Design Houses and Advertising agencies, he soon shifted his focus towards photography. He started off by assisting a renowned photographer in India for over 2 years, soon after which he travelled to Paris and Hamburg to acquire more knowledge with respect to the visual medium after which he decided to start off on his own.
Aspiring to carve a niche in the photography industry, he is well versed in fashion, advertising and editorial work. Vishal describes his work as the constant need to move and evolve. These characteristics of the ever growing fashion world reflects on his photography as well. A true follower of top celebrity photographers such as Richard Avedon, Mario Testino & Steven Klien, Vishal follows his footsteps by preferring to eschew the ‘pretty’ and bring out the stark underlying ‘reality’ of the subject.
Boasting a background in graphic Designing, his work has often been considered provocative yet unique. His client and publication credits currently includes International & Indian magazines such as Vogue Italia, Adweek, GQ, Cosmopolitan, to name a few. His work has also appeared in the likes of advertising agencies such as Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, Wunderman Thompson, DDB, Mccann Erickson and many more. Current body of work includes – Dove, Lux, Nokia, YouTube, Sony Bravia, Oriflame, etc. His work has been exhibited in the prestigious D & AD Awards (London), The World Press Photo, the Dubai Media City (IBDA), Lalit Kala Academy etc. Ventured out on his own 15 years ago in the ever demanding modern fashion world, Vishal’s passion for visual beauty and perfection continues to impress many today.
Currently he has been selected as 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide for 2021 / 22 by Luerzer’s Archive.

Vishal got acquainted just like several other photographers one meets as a Creative Director. But his portfolio with its distinct style and his approach to the craft struck a chord. I did have the opportunity to work with him when I was the Sr. Creative Director at Wunderman Thompson on a project to promote a premium brand of farm-fresh milk. It was a complicated shoot where models were shot on limbo and later backgrounds developed in CGI. His attention to detail and the ability to bring alive the creative vision that we committed on the pre-prod makes this shoot something that I not only enjoyed but learnt a lot from. The client were delighted and it remains as one of the campaigns I proudly showcase in my Portfolio. Vishal has been a part of Oriflame's creative journey in many capacities. One of his notable contributions was when he displayed his remarkable talent in one of our celebrity shoots. He photographed our then-ambassador, one of Bollywood's notable actresses in a significant campaign, and his work was highly appreciated by colleagues and audiences alike.

It’s always a pleasant experience to work with Vishal. He came to our rescue when we at McCann were desperately looking for a good photographer who can deliver quickly. He not only did he deliver with good results, but the outcome was also Super Cool! The Client also appreciated the result. And so started our journey of working together on brands such Nokia, Sony, Nestle etc. Eagerly waiting to do more projects where we get to experience his knowledge and professionalism.
