Eike Frederik Schulz
Eike Frederik Schulz was born in Stuttgart in 1987. After graduating from high school, Eike began collecting the obligatory internships for an application to film school, only to be duly rejected anyway.
Thanks to film funding, Eike was nevertheless able to make his first short film, "Nachtwächter", which premiered at the Shanghai International Film Festival. This was followed in 2012 by the multi-award-winning short film "Jeanetmila" before Eike dedicated himself to a project as co-writer with Sebastian Schipper in 2013, which was criticized for being 'not so clever'. Fortunately, this became the one-take heist thriller "Victoria", which was shown at the Toronto Film Festival and received various international awards as well as 6 German film awards, including the German Film Award in Gold.
In 2023, Eike received a Young Director's Award at the Cannes Lions for the film "The Interview".
Eike loves films, whether short or long, with dialog, children, sports, fashion, animals or without. The important thing for Eike is to find something special. Fortunately, it's always there somewhere. You just have to look carefully.
Eike plays the piano and also has two good dance moves.
