    Marcus Peel

    London

Marcus is an internationally awarded London-based photographer specialising in architecture and interiors.

He is a perfectionist at heart which is fundamental to his photography; both in the observation of light and form, as well as composition. Derived from personal intrigue, he takes a more investigative approach. He strives to go beyond the ordinary to photograph the extraordinary and enjoys creating a blur between the real and the surreal. He loves abstraction.

Clients include advertising agencies, design companies, PR companies, artists, architects, interior designers, property developers, hotel groups and luxury brands. His work has been used in many print and digital media types, including websites, brochures, social, magazines, books and award entries. It is also seen in publications, including: ArchDaily, Architectural Digest, Condé Nast Traveller, Dezeen, Divisare, Elle Decoration, House & Garden, Frame, Icon, Interior Design, RIBA Journal, The Architects’ Journal, Vogue and Wallpaper*.

"Quite simply, I would only use Marcus to photograph my projects. His fresh approach and casual manner belie the strong graphic quality of the images he designs. Not only is he a great listener, he is an extraordinary storyteller – creating beautiful photographs which communicate each project’s most compelling values." Armando Iarussi, Senior Associate and Design Director - Gensler.

Marcus has spent the last four seasons photographing London’s Mayfair for Maybourne Hotel Group. He chose a detailed and abstract approach, focusing on found moments in architecture. He feels very humbled to have several limited-edition fine art prints now hanging on the walls of Claridge’s, one of three hotels owned by the group.

While nearing completion of this commission, Marcus also produced his latest personal project, A Walk Alongside the Boundary Wall Before the Cull, which explores the relationship between humans and animals.

Looking ahead, Marcus has just been offered the biggest potential commission of his 20-year career which will involve photographing and filming in 14 cities across Asia over a three-month period, producing an extensive portfolio of photographs and video.
