Splitting her time between photo productions for Red Bull and taking on her many freelance portrait, lifestyle, and music photography jobs, Kelly Elaine has been busy recently.

Her favourite career moment in the last six months was when she was notified that her portrait story of Leon Bridges was a winner in PDN's 2017 Ultimate Music Moment contest. Music has always been a major component of Kelly's life, so gaining a record label like Capitol Records as a client and working with amazing talent has really been a dream come true.

Kelly Elaine's love affair with photography started back in 2001 when she took her first black and white film photo course. She learned how to do all the processing and developed a respect for the art.

It wouldn't be until around 2010 that she realised her need to make her art into a business. It was on an extended cross-country road trip that she decided to switch careers and make it happen. From then until present day it has been a mix of emotions and a lot of learning.

In the last couple of years, Kelly has been gaining a lot of traction in the music industry and in photographing portraits. She has worked with artists and clients like Leon Bridges, Allen Stone, Janelle Monáe, Lemaitre, Gallant, Astralwerks, and Capitol Records.

In 2016, Kelly Elaine's work was published in Entertainment Weekly, Marie Claire Kazakhstan, HUF Magazine, and in numerous other digital magazines and articles.

Kelly Elaine is a published Los Angeles-based photographer. Moving to Los Angeles opened up a lot of doors, as she has gained major clients like Capitol Records and Athleta. Most recently, some of her live music shots of Hailee Steinfeld were published in Entertainment Weekly, and she shot promos for Lemaitre, a duo from Norway signed to Astralwerks Records. One clothing campaign she shot for an up-and-coming L.A. designer was featured in HUF Magazine, and she recently had a photo from a music artist promo shoot featured in Marie Claire Kazakstan.

She loves working with people and has a knack for getting her subjects to emote, capturing the true authenticity of their personalities. Her clients usually speak to how comfortable she makes them feel.
