I love to make portraits, and I have been photographing for more than 10 years; the last seven years on a professional level. When I take a portrait, it is not just me pushing a button on a camera; it is the interaction between me and the person in front of the camera that makes the picture. 

Of course the use of light and creative post-production create a certain style. But the social aspect of an image is very important. Luckily, I am an easy going guy and I am able to connect with the subject really well. "A special project in my Spotlight this time. It started with a feeling that lingered after a week camping in the south of The Netherlands. "Why are you here? This is our campsite. Get lost!” Perhaps I was completely wrong and I was imagining these thoughts. But it didn't let them go. The combination with an audience that was at least 75% covered in tattoos gave me the idea to make this project.

Fortunately the owner of Strandpark Vlugtenburg was immediately enthusiastic about Campink. The thoughts 'Why do you have tattoos? And what's behind those pictures?' We found particularly interesting.

You can actually see this project in two parts. On the one hand the black and white photos with the stories and on the other hand the colour photos that tell the story about the Campink campsite.

"Hi there! I am Glenn Mostert from The Netherlands. Last year I became a full-time commercial photographer. But my photographic journey started in 2008 when I was working as an intern at a fashion company. I was a graphic designer until I got in touch with photography (product and model).

I love everything about it and especially working with people. People interest me, everyone has their own story and I want to hear and photograph them! Creating a moment where the person in front of me opens up to me and shows their true personality is the best thing that can happen.

I work in the studio and on location. I use strobes to set the right mood and create something special. During retouching, I try to get the most out of the photographs but keep the authenticity of the person too."
