Yuyang first picked up a camera at 15 documenting his teenage life and the pace of change in his home province of Sichuan. First self-taught, he won the Magnum Fellowship in 2014 and went on to study photography in NYC.

His patience, sincerity and unique eye have brought his attention to various themes around the world including daily life in North Korea, a fisherman in Senegal, LGBT weddings in the sea of Japan, Uygur teen football and the massive urbanisation of China.

He has been awarded the Eugene Smith Grant in 2020, named by Time magazine as one of the 'Nine Chinese Photographers You Need to Follow' and won emerging photographer of PDN 30 in 2017. His work has been published in Time magazine, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal along with many more and exhibited in galleries in Paris, New York, London and China. 

His commercial work includes campaigns for the likes of Apple, Nike, Airbnb, Harbin Beer and has shot celebrities including Zhong Chu Xi, Li Wen Han, Li Meng, Zhao Rui, Zhou Yu Tong.

Yuyang Liu was born in Sichuan in 1991 and he is now based between Chengdu and Shanghai. With his unique vision and perspective, as well as the sincerity, patience, and adaptability required for documentary photography, he covers issues that range from the daily life in North Korea, to the transformation of the energy industry in Shanxi; from fishermen’s work in Senegal to young Uyghur teens dreams about football; from the massive urbanisation process in China to a Cambodian music school aiming for everyone; and from an LGTB wedding in the sea of Japan to ordinary people’s stories in Chunyun, the CNY Transportation in Guangzhou. Yuyang Liu tells stories with pictures.

He became a jury of ADC 98th Annual Awards in the photography section, has been selected as one of the 'Nine Chinese Photographers You Need to Follow' by TIME magazine and emerging photographer of PDN 30 in 2017. He has won Magnum Foundation Human Rights and Photography Fellowship, Ian Parry Scholarship, and Abigail Cohen Fellowship in Documentary Photography.

His work has been published on TIME, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and exhibited in New York, London, Shanghai, Paris, and Beijing. Yi Guo was born in Shanghai and raised in NYC. Her styling career began over 10 years ago in NYC, working for magazines such as Vanity Fair, WWD, W and Details. Her interest in China's growing fashion industry began when she became New York Fashion Editor for the innovative I.T Post magazine. After many trips back to Shanghai and an opportunity to become Style Editor for Vogue China, she decided to base herself in Shanghai.

Yi currently freelances for many international brands and consults for multiple luxury companies looking to launch in China. Her client list includes Vogue China, Chanel, Neiman Marcus, Maybelline, Olay and Sephora. She also works very closely with emerging Chinese designers and Chinese fashion brands.
