Noel Hendrickson
Canada
Based in Vancouver, Noel Hendrickson is an internationally recognised commercial photographer, director and storyteller. Known for his ability to spot the extraordinary in those subtle 'in-between' moments. Noel captures his subjects’ true emotions through his unique form of visual storytelling.
"Some of my favorite moments while shooting are when I'm fully embedded in the action. To me, photography is really about how you choose to experience your environment and how you tell that story. I remember my legs falling asleep while we waited several hours in -40C for a polar bear family to come into frame, and then there is one of the coldest moments of my life hovering over a glacier, hanging out the door of a helicopter, waiting for a train to emerge from behind a mountain pass".
“Noel and his team are miracle workers. We had a complex, multi-day, on-location shoot involving 12 different talents in a variety of outdoor locations. Noel was directing motion and shooting stills for this expansive campaign in Miami. The kicker? A freak late-season hurricane that threw all kinds of wrenches into our plans, requiring almost impossible resourcefulness and agility. Looking at the beautiful shots now, no one would ever know the trials Noel and team pushed through to get us a flawless end result.” - Trisha Salge - Associate Creative Director - McCann Health.

Title: 'Reflecting you, reflecting me'.
Location: Paris, Bourse de Commerce; 'To Breathe - Constellation' by Kimsooja.
"I always go back to Paris for inspiration, to get lost in the city with camera in my hand. This time I flew from Canada only to see Kimsooja’s work in Bourse de Commerce.
I have been there many times as a big admirer of Tadao Ando, who designed and restored the building. The mirrored installation in conjunction with his work made you almost enter another world. A world in which you reflect yourself. A world that I quietly observed with my camera. You find yourself in moments like this."
