Matthew Joseph
People & lifestyle photographers
Matthew Joseph is an award-winning people-focussed advertising photographer and director. He is based in London but gladly follows his work around the world (when global pandemics permit).
"Lockdown in the UK has not stopped progress! Whilst missing flying to warmer climes, it has been a very productive time filled with not only shooting a lot of personal work - both stills and motion, but I'm also grateful to a few global clients who have trusted my work ethic, creativity and flexibility to commission a few projects both remotely (using the amazing tech we have) and on set at a safe social distance. There is always a way to keep on shooting and being creative!"
Matthew is a visual storyteller who uses his years of experience behind the camera in a huge variety of situations, cultures and climates across the world, to help connect global brands with their local audience through stills and motion. Whether on a large set full of complex lighting, cast and crew in California, or in a remote Ethiopian village with just his camera, subject and a language barrier; his keen eye for detail and an understanding of human emotion enables him to document authenticity time and time again.
He is proud to have been included in Lürzer’s Archive ‘Top 200 Ad Photographers Worldwide’ for 2017/18 and 2019/20 - he is also a finalist in the 2020 AOP Awards for his project ‘Podo’ - read more on his website.

Perry Curties
Advertising photographers
"For this edition of Showcase UK I’ve chosen to focus on a new set of motion portraits of Charlize Theron, Matthias Schoenaerts, Kiki Layne and the rest of the cast of Netflix's new film - The Old Guard.
It was shot this time last year using motion control robotics alongside conventional cameras and a meticulous setup process which allowed us to perfectly capture some very complicated shots of each character in only one or two takes. Which makes for happy talent and happy producers.
2019 was a busy year for my team and I, so when cinemas start showing big movies again you will see a lot more of my photographic and moving image work on a billboard (or instagram feed) near you soon.
Get in touch if you'd like to find out how motion control could add a new dimension to your project while removing the element of risk that often accompanies moving image productions.
Visit my website to see the full clips."
