Hannah Caldwell Photography Melbourne

For Scottish-born Hannah Caldwell, one of the best things about living and working in Melbourne is the food. As well as being delicious, it’s the perfect medium to indulge her love of rich colour, texture, shade, and her fascination with capturing light, and she’s always inspired by the high-quality produce of her home state.

Hannah has more than a decade’s experience in the photography industry. As well as food, she loves shooting interiors and still life. She infuses all her work with a painterly quality; her images have a clean, minimal feel, with strong graphic lines, while also expressing an appreciation of drama.

Favouring magenta hues, deeper blues and darker colours, Hannah creates an emotion and mood through the shot to really engage the viewer. She finds collaboration on shoots especially inspiring, and has worked with some wonderful chefs, art directors, and stylists.

Photography is Hannah’s career, but it’s so much more than that - it’s her way to convey the beauty she sees in the world.

Tyler Darden Washington

"I wish I could say I have tasted every dish I have photographed. Sometimes there is just not enough time in the day. People may not agree on politics, taxes, or even the weather, but we surely drop our differences and come together over food. Time spent at the table with others is one of the best ways to get to know them. Photography is much the same.

My work has been recognised in the creative industry’s leading publications: Art Director’s Club of New York Annual, the Communication Arts Design Annual, Print magazine’s Regional Design annual, Creative Quarterly, Photo District News, Society of Publication Design Annuals and SPOTS competition."
