Horton-Stephens, London's leading photographers' agents for over 25 years, have been busy as usual shooting stills and moving image from online content to TVC. Featured in this Showcase is a selection of new work, but be sure to visit the site for a full run-down.
Horton-Stephens is well-known for representing a world-class group of photographers, but moving image has become a bigger and bigger part of what the team do. Great production remains key to the success of all their shoots. They’re friendly and approachable, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of lighting, casting, locations (in the UK and worldwide), set building, timings, post-production, CGI and moving image - whether shooting TVCs or on the back of TVCs, - "a very particular challenge that we deal with often, where we only have moments to get the shot, we’ve done it all!"
They also look after two CGI outfits. They have always worked alone in small, darkened rooms isolated from the real world and are therefore very well placed to create without limit and without human contact. In current times it can be an answer for productions that would be otherwise impossible.
Los Angeles-based and Australian-born, Paul Barshon and his production crew have quickly adapted to shooting and filming under the Covid restrictions.
"Commercial photographers and directors are natural problem solvers and the current circumstances means there are problems to be solved.
During these times, we have successfully managed productions for Toyota (CGI), Volvo, Polestar, Renault, Hyundai USA and Aston Martin."

I shoot distinctive, beautifully-lit portraits that capture a person’s life and spirit. I create atmospheric, narrative, cinematic images that advertise stage and screen productions as boldly as they tell the stories of brands.
All my work is punchy, precise and beautifully lit, filled with detail, drama and feeling.

"Right now we need comfort more than ever.
We need comfort, we need warmth, in reality, we need a hug… but in lieu we need something that’s going to grab you from the inside and provide some distant fond, comforting memories, or give you that hug.
Never before in my living memory has the need to make every day special been more important than now.
I’ve selected these images to do just that.
Essentially they are everyday meals. But they are special. Every one of them (at least for me), evokes a sense of more. A sense of childhood or comfort. A memory of food that makes everything alright.
Get in touch to see how I can help you make the everyday special."
