Chicago-based advertising and commercial photographer Ali Engin, picked up a camera when he was 17 years old, and since then this apparatus has given him countless excuses to visit unique and wonderful places that he may never have seen.

Engin, who specialises in sports, action and fitness images, draws his artistic vision from his own experiences of competing in three Ironman races, 17 half-Ironmans, six Olympic triathlons, seven marathons, and a 5K. He writes on his website: “I have not qualified for Ironman Hawaii, or the Boston Marathon and I have yet to run a sub-3-hour marathon. I do, however, know what it takes to give 100 percent to anything you set your mind to… being an athlete gives me a different perspective to other photographers.”
