"'Don’t drive and drink!' is what we always say, but are there moments when you need to?
I like to shoot cars and food, but people say that this is actually not really possible. Well judge for yourself if you like the shots you see. The fun factor in my work as a photographer is the biggest drive for me, and you can't do it all by yourself. That’s why having good people around you is so important. Having a good time with your team is even more fun.
Working for brands like Grolsch, Renault, Bacardi and KIA gives you a certain status, but working for less known brands can sometimes give you more enjoyment than any job you've ever dreamed of.
I do all my still photography in my small cosy studio in Amsterdam and for the bigger sets I rent a studio with everything we need and in the city we want to shoot."

"My wife Lina is from Moscow and therefore I am interested in the Russian culture. Last year I started working on a book in which I show the life at the 'dacha'. These so called dachas are houses visited by Russians mostly during the weekends in summer. People just want to get away from Moscow and relax a bit.
Most of these people work a lot too at the dacha. They grow their own vegetables in their gardens and green houses. A lot of these veggies will be put into jars to save them for winter time. Besides this, the Russians love to grill meat and drink some vodka. Especially now, during the COVID-19 situation, all Russians stay at their dacha, at least if they have one. Of course not everyone is working at the dacha. Many people just go there to relax and have fun, and get away from their daily hectic lives in Moscow,
Due to the current situation, I won't be able to finish the job this year, but I will be back there later this year, I hope.
On my website you can find a blog where I write about my dacha adventures. I ensure you that it will be fun reading it, so follow me.
By the way, in 2021 I will run from Amsterdam to Moscow to promote this book, how cool is that!"

"Photography is more or less like ballet, the simpler it seems to be the more difficult it often is. I myself very much like ballet, and I am a huge fan of “keep it simple”. How cool is it that you can somehow stir emotions in someone: emotions can be equivalent to erogenous zones; giving the person a feeling of comfort and pleasure.
The avocado shot, which I did for a beauty brand, is as simple as the pasta shot with the fork, shot for a big supermarket in the Netherlands.
For SPA sparkling water, the photo is closer to an illustration - in all its complexity it is still simple and clean. That’s how I like it.
“Butter next to the fish” as we say in Dutch. It is similar to the American expression “Cash on the barrel”. I think I need to say no more.
At the moment I am working on some very interesting projects, which I hope I can show you in the next issue. In the meantime remember that I love to think along with you and my fees are always based on the project.
See you soon!

Johan Visschedijk started working in the early nineties, loving food and everything along with it, he also started working in film a few years ago.
In a nutshell we can say that Johan is a guy who is really passionate about everything he does; photography, film, CGI and his big hobby ultra-running. So we can truly say that Johan is not a quitter.
When Johan says yes to a project he is very eager to get it to a high level, no matter what it takes. Once the financial issues are agreed, Johan is lost in creativity, light, composition and everything else.
Last year he was asked to shoot for a book about 35 Michelin star restaurants, some of the results you can see here. One of these restaurants asked him to make some wall decoration involving game dishes.
